Eligibility Criteria
All prospective applicants interested in participating in the National Scholarship Program 2025 in Slovakia are required to meet the specified eligibility criteria outlined below:
Eligibility Criteria:
- International Applicants: Candidates from all nationalities are eligible to apply, except for those holding Slovakian citizenship.
Application Categories:
A) University Students:
- Students currently enrolled at universities outside Slovakia.
- Second-level higher education students (master’s students).
- Students who, at the time of the application deadline, have completed a minimum of 2.5 years of their university studies in the same study program.
B) Ph.D. Students:
- Doctoral students undergoing higher education or scientific training outside Slovakia.
- Applicants must be accepted by a public, private, or state university or a research institution in Slovakia authorized to conduct a doctoral study program.
- The academic mobility entails studying, conducting research, or participating in an artistic stay in Slovakia.
C) International University Teachers, Researchers, and Artists:
- Individuals in academia, research, or artistic fields invited to undertake a teaching, research, or artistic stay in Slovakia.
- Invitations must be extended by institutions possessing a valid certificate of eligibility for research and development.
- Eligible institutions must not be business entities and must be based in Slovakia.

Duration of National Scholarship Programme 2025
As previously mentioned, the National Scholarship Program 2025 of the Republic of Slovakia is a short-term funding exchange initiative designed to support individuals in pursuing their research endeavors within the higher educational institutions of Slovakia. The program encompasses various categories, each with its specified duration:
1. Duration of a Scholarship Stay (Students):
- 1 – 2 full semesters (i.e., 4 – 5 or 9 – 10 months)
- or 1 – 3 trimesters, in case the academic year is divided into trimesters (i.e., 3 – 4 or 6 – 7 or 9 – 10 months).
2. Duration of a Scholarship Stay (Ph.D. Students):
- 1 – 10 months.
3. Duration of a Scholarship Stay (University Teachers, Researchers, or Artists):
- 1 – 10 months.
