The Application Journey

Embarking on this academic journey is a two-step process. You can apply for the scholarship when submitting your application for admission to the university of your choice. To ensure a smooth application process, we strongly recommend carefully reviewing each school’s application procedures, deadlines, and specific requirements directly on the university’s website.

Tailored Choices

For master’s degree applicants, you have the freedom to select three schools that align with your aspirations. If you’re aiming for an undergraduate degree, you can choose up to six institutions to explore your academic horizons.

A Family Affair

Education knows no boundaries, and neither does your family. We encourage you to bring your spouse and children along on your educational journey. However, there are some essential considerations to keep in mind.

If both you and your spouse apply together (you for a student residence permit and your spouse for a spouse residence permit), it may impact the processing time. You might receive your student residence permit late, potentially disrupting your academic schedule in the beautiful land of Finland.

To optimize your chances of a seamless transition, we recommend a strategic approach: arrive in Finland with a student residence permit and have your spouse apply separately at a later time. This way, you can ensure that you’re right on track for your university schedule, allowing you to adapt effectively to your new environment.

Residence Permit for Your Spouse

Once you’ve settled into your new Finnish life, your spouse can apply for a spouse residence permit. Keep in mind that the income requirement for a spouse residence permit is generally higher than that for a student residence permit. Your spouse must demonstrate a monthly income of 700 EUR to cover living expenses in Finland. Meeting this financial requirement and legally verifying your relationship will facilitate the process of obtaining a residence permit for your spouse.

Financial Prerequisites for Spouse and Child

If you plan to bring along your minor child, additional financial considerations come into play. The combined monthly funds for a student (560 EUR) and spouse (700 EUR) amount to 1,260 EUR per month. In the case of a couple with one child, the total required monthly income is 1,760 EUR. It’s worth noting that separate bank accounts are required for the student and spouse residence permit applicants to demonstrate the source of funds, while the child’s funds can be held in the spouse’s bank account.

Document Checklist for Spouse Residence Permit

When applying for a spouse residence permit, be prepared with the following documents:

  • Valid passport
  • Passport photo
  • Colored copies of passport pages containing personal information for both you and your spouse
  • Form for Clarification of Family Ties, which your spouse in Finland must sign
  • A document confirming your legal status in the country where you submitted the application
  • If you are already in Finland, submit a signed Form here.

Admission Window

The Finland🇫🇮 Admission season for 2023 is here, spanning from September to January. It’s important to note that there is no age limit for bachelor’s degree applications, offering everyone a chance at educational excellence.

Beyond Scholarships

In addition to the Finland Scholarship, some universities offer automatic tuition discounts ranging from 30% to 60% once you gain admission. With a diverse range of courses available, you’ll have the freedom to choose the path that aligns with your aspirations, and even if your desired course isn’t on the list, there are related courses waiting to be explored.

The journey to academic achievement begins here, and the Finland Scholarship is your guiding light. Embrace this opportunity, embark on a life-changing adventure in a country renowned for its educational excellence, and take the first step towards your dreams.
